Biography

Georges Beaudoin is a professor of metallogeny, recognized for his significant contributions to fundamental research on the isotopic geochemistry of hydrothermal systems and the development of methodologies using indicator minerals in exploration. In 2012, he was awarded the NSERC-Agnico Eagle Industrial Research Chair in Mineral Exploration to develop new exploration tools using indicator minerals. He leads a multidisciplinary team that has distinguished itself internationally in developing new methodologies using indicator minerals. Since 2022, he has headed the new Agnico Eagle-Eldorado Gold Québec Research Chair in Mineral Exploration. He was the founding director of Université Laval's Centre de recherche sur la géologie et l'ingénierie des ressources minérales (E4m) and director of the DIVEX Network on mineral exploration diversification in Quebec. He was Editor-in-Chief (2012-2022) of the international scientific journal Mineralium Deposita, which has the highest impact factor in the field. He was elected President (2013-2015) of the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA).
